Enjoy classic New Orleans Shrimp and Grits at your home tonight with this easy-to-prepare mix from Cookin' Cajun.
In addition to this package, you will need:
1. 1 and 1/4 cup half & half or whole milk
2. 2 tbsp butter or margarine
3. Approximately one pound peeled shrimp (crawfish or chicken can be used if you prefer)
Grits Directions: Remove sauce pack. Boil 4 cups water. Once boiling, slowly stir in grits. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 7 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Sauce Directions: Melt 2 tbsp butter or margarine in a saucepan. Add 1 and 1/4 cups half and half or whole milk, and the contents of the Cookin'Cajun Shrimp & Grits Sauce pack. Mix well and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. If sauce becomes too thick, add small amounts of half & half or whole milk until it reaches desired consistency. After 10 minutes remove from heat and add fully-cooked shrimp. Season with salt and pepper or cajun seasoning to taste, and serve over Grits.
